Michael Whelan
Michael Whelan won the Hugo for best artist 1980 thru 1986 and 1988-1989, in 1987 he was nominated, but didn't win. That year. His art book Michael Whelan's Works of Wonder won the 1988 Hugo for best non-fiction book. In 1980, 1988 and again in 1995 he was nominated for the World Fantasy Convention's Best artist, but in 1981, 82 and 83 he won the award. In 1995 he was also nominated for best Original Art cover at the WFC or CJ Cherryh's Foreigner.
He's published 4 books and has a wonderful catalog you can browse through. The books were:

He's done book covers for such noteworthy's as Melanie Rawn, Tanith Lee, Joan Vinge, Tad Williams, Larry Niven, Robin Hobb, Anne McCaffrey, Robert Heinlein and Patricia McKillip -- not to leave out the covers he's done for the reissues of Asimov's Foundation books.
